Three of our girls teams played as well. Our Girls 17 Black team participated in the UWSP Invite and finished third after going undefeated in pool play and dropping a close match in the semifinals. Head Coach Michelle Angel comments, "We should have been playing for the championship but with a few of our girls recovering from illnesses we didn't pass nearly as well as we have in the past."
Our Girls 13 Black team played up in DePere at the St. Norbert's Green Knight Invite showing steady improvement over their last tournament. "The girls understanding of the game has come a long way since our last tournament." stated Head Coach Callie Hainzinger. The 13s squad won their first match in pool play and also their semifinal match in the consolation bracket.
Our Girls 14 Black team played in the Green Knight's Invite as well. This squad had made it to the semi finals their last couple of tournaments and came up a little short in each match. This past weekend the girls led by Head Coach Lisa Beck and Assistant Coach Nathan Malewski finally broke through the semifinal match and found themselves in the Finals. Although they took home silver the coaches were extremely happy with the overall performance. Coach Lisa comments on the final match against the DePere Diggers, "Our girls played super hard all day long. We had fun and keep improving as a team. They had some really tall and talented hitters - That in combination with a few missed serves made it hard to come out on top. The girls were bummed after the loss but as coaches we couldn't have been more proud of them!"
This upcoming weekend is a big weekend for the Club. All seven of our boys teams participate in the Molten Wisconsin Boys Festival - A two day tournament held in multiple Milwaukee and Waukesha Sites that brings in teams from all over the country. Our Girls 13 Black plays at UWO in the Titan Invite on Saturday. The Girls 14 Black plays in Green Bay at the Kaepa FC Elite Invite, and our Girls 16 Black plays at UWSP Invite on Saturday.

The Nightmares B15 Black team played their best ball of the year and fought hard to make to the gold bracket and finished third overall.
The Nightmares B16 Black team also showed great improvement as they played great on Sunday to take home 1st place in the bronze division.
All three Nightmares 17s teams took first in their pools on Saturday and continued their great play on Sunday. In one semifinal our Nightmares B17 Red team from the Fox Valley defeated our Nightmares SB17 Black team from Stoughton. In the finals our Nightmares B17 Red team defeated our B17 Black team in a hard fought battle. Our 17s teams finished this tournament with a perfect 1-2-3 finish.
Both of the Nightmares 18s teams played well all weekend. That great play earned both of them a spot in the finals on Sunday afternoon. The SB18 Black team from Stoughton took game one and our B18 Black team from the fox valley fought back to win games two and three for the Boys Fest Club Championship. Another perfect 1-2 finish for the club.

This past weekend produced some great results for the Nightmares Volleyball Club. We had four girls teams and two boys teams in competition this weekend and none of the them finished below third place!
Our Girls 15 Black team coached by Angela Gehl had their best showing of the season. They played at Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, WI and found themselves having a morning to remember as they went undefeated in pool play taking first in their pool and continuing on to the gold bracket for the first time this season. Coach Angela commented on the match and season thus far, "I am super proud of our team! The girls have really come a long way. We had a ton of fun and everyone played very focused this weekend. Even though we passed very well in the final we just couldn't put enough balls away to come out with the big third game win. We are happy with our third place finish and can't wait to get back in the gym" The 15s next tourney is on the 24th at Berlin High School.
Our Girls 16 Black team coached by Leah Rosenbaum and Amanda Zimdars also won their morning pool and found themselves in a tough semifinal match. Coach Leah stated, "The girls played their best ball of the season! We really had a good time and both Amanda and I are extremely proud of our squad." Coming off of this third place finish the 16s Black team has their sites set on Feb 23rd as they travel to UW-Stout for their next Tournament.
Both of our Girls 18s team took place in the second play date of the Badger Tour. This Event takes place over three weekends and it is compiled of 40 of the top 17s and 18s teams in the State. Each play date consists of a pool of four teams followed by a seeding match that determines your final seed until the next badger tour play date. The 18 Black team clinched first in their pool by finishing 2-1 and lost their seeding match to a tough Wisconsin Volleyball Academy squad. "This tournament marked the best serving performance of the season! We played some great ball in the morning... The afternoon seeding match was a different story. I think it was the Mac N' Cheese the concessions stand was serving!" Coach Jason Wheelock said with a smile. The Black squad is currently seeded 30th. Our 18 Pink team also finished pool play with a 2-1 record. "We had moments of greatness!" said coach Jon Ellmann "There were a few long points where our girls really showed good focus and tenacity. One of our middles had to leave the tournament early due to a prior commitment and when you only have seven players to start with it gets hard to make adjustments with only six girls." After the 2-1 start the 18s Pink also lost their seeding match. They are currently ranked 16th in the Tour.
On the boys side we had both our 15s and 16s Black teams down in Milwaukee at Case High School for the Raytown Rally Invitational. Following the trend set by our 15s and 16s girls teams both squads posted third place finishes. Coaches Mark Beck and Darek Van Deuerzen (15/16 respectively) had nothing but positive remarks about their teams. Coach Darek mentioned that he was impressed at his teams high level of play. He went on to comment on how he is amazed at the rate of improvement with his kids. Coach Mark had similar things to say and focused his comments on how his team seemed to have a great time on the court. Although both coaches felt their teams had the firepower to make it to the finals, they were happy with their results and are looking forward to their teams future improvements.
This weekend we have both of our Nightmares B18s teams as well as all three of our Nightmares B17s teams competing in Hammond Indiana in the the Nike Great Lakes Boys Festival. This is a two day festival format with teams from across the country. Our Girls 15s are also competing this weekend. Their travels will take them to Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, WI for a Storm Invitational. Keep your eye out for future news and updates for the Nightmares Volleyball Club!

Our 13's played at the Thunder Tournament at the Boys and Girls Club in Oshkosh. They came in 4th out of 6, but they really could have taken 1st or 2nd. They have come a very long way, and did the best job that we as parents have seen. They had some tough competition, but stayed in every game. Almost every match (5) went to 3 games. The girls played their hearts out, and did a wonderful job. Callie Hainzinger is the 13's Coach and has done a wonderful job with the girls. They just keep improving and are learning to play well together
